This Is What I have Learned Episode 6
1. Your life’s purpose is to create more meaning in life. That meaning is found through the work you do. Opinions may differ on this but I know that your purpose is basically that activity that completes you. For me, I am certain that I am here to write. Period. And your work is usually as simple as that. I have a job; a 9-5 which I am happy about but I am a writer at heart, so I write.
2. I like Maya Angelou’s point of view on living a legacy. According to
Maya, "your legacy is in every life you touch."
3. Happiness is not your life’s purpose. I am learning that happiness should not be the main pursuit. We should not chase happiness like nothing else matters. What about fulfillment? What about leaving a legacy? I am not saying that depression and anxiety should be the preferred state of mind. What I am saying is that there will be times when you will feel less than 100 percent. Just know that there is nothing wrong with you. We all have our moments.
4. There’s a line from the novel The kite Runner that always comes to mind: “There is a way to be good again”. What this means, in my opinion, is that there is always an opportunity for redemption. I think that most of us lead twisted lives. However, you can change. You cannot undo the past, but you can decide what your future is going to be like.

5. Avoid people that talk a lot. Like nonsense talk hours non- stop. They are time wasters.
6. "Remember to play after every storm."
This is like a nagging thought for me and it wouldn't go away. I think life generally is one storm after the other. Home storms. Work storms. Family storms. But the storms do end.
After every storm, the clouds become clear. The sun shines again and everyone can then come out to play. Mattie Stepanek, though you died many years ago, your words abide with me to this day. "Remember to play after every storm"
I have generally associated play with expenses. And I hate spending money, so I don't play a lot. But maybe play doesn't have to be expensive.
Thanks for reading. I hope you learned something See you in my next post.
Cheers.
