Canva Co-Founders, Melanie Perkins And Cliff Obrecht Just Became Billionaires

According to Forbes, Following new funding led by the global investment management firm, T. Rowe Price and  Dragoneer Investment Group, Melanie Perkins, and Cliff Obrecht, both co-founders of Canva, have become billionaires. This round of funding reportedly takes the value of the company to $15 Billion Dollars. 

Why is this Story Significant?

If you are a digital creator or anyone making use of digital products like Instagram and Facebook to advertise your products and services, then you must know Canva. The software offers thousands of stunning design templates for users to pick from. Whether you work in a formal organization or you sell crafts online, they have something for everybody and for every situation -mostly free of charge. 




Canva highlights the power of technology to create access and opportunities. With Canva, you don't need to know a lot about graphic design to create powerful visual aids, presentations, and marketing materials. Technology is definitely going to be a big thing for a very long time and in ways, we are yet to contemplate. 

I had never heard of Canva founders until I stumbled on this story by Forbes. I guess we often overlook the fact that digital products are created by people. But it's an inspiring story and reminder that technology creates opportunities for people to live their dreams and to create wealth for themselves. Melanie has reportedly become Australia's 3rd richest woman as a result of this recent valuation.

Melanie and Obrecht, who got married in 2020 plan to launch a foundation that addresses issues like global climate change and wealth inequality.

STEPHEN DUNEIER'S STRATEGY FOR ACHIEVING GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS LEVEL SUCCESS IS SO EASY, IT'S UNBELIEVABLE .

I really want you to watch Stephen Dunier's Ted talk, How to Achieve Your Most Ambitious Goals. That's the essence of this blog post in a nutshell.  His Ted talk is actually one of the most important items on my motivational playlist because it reminds me that putting time into work, pays off in the long run. He specifically alluded to the fact that little drops of water make a mighty ocean. That is, even if you spend little time on a task, as long as you are consistent, and you make marginal improvements over time,  you'd achieve your goal.   Again, his strategy is simple. Break down a project into small manageable tasks that you can complete in 20 minutes and once the allotted time is up, you take a break. After which you come back to do some more work which could even be on another project. BG REACTIONS: THE SILHOUETTE CHALLENGE

I really love the silhouette challenge. Maybe I'm a low-key bad boy. But I know for certain that I'm not alone here. Despite the fact that the challenge has been met with so much backlash from men and women, more and more people are participating. The silhouette challenge basically involves one switching from a robe or PJ into lingerie while dancing to Paul Anka's "Put Your Head On my Shoulder". The Silhouette is created by a crimson red Snap Chat filter available on the mobile App.  Why is this challenge bursting my head?  1. It's the fact that a song from 1959 makes a come back in the year 2021! Up until yesterday, I had never heard of a Paul Anka. It's also very heartwarming that he's alive to experience all of this.
